Shaylyn Myshrall b. 1996 in Point Claire, QC is an emerging artist currently based in Kingston. She recently completed her Bachelor’s in Fine Art (Painting) at Queen's University and is pursuing a career in visual art.
She is part of Dead On Artist Collective where she paints primarily with oils. Shaylyn also interested in printmaking, watercolour, collage and drawing. In 2017, Shaylyn was the recipient of the Margaret Craig Scholarship for Fine Art from Queen's University. She has previously shown her work at the Union Gallery and is eager to begin participating in more shows and applying to Graduate School.
My paintings are concerned with depicting dreamscapes, which are my interpretation of phenomenological moments in nature.
Curiosity drives my practice. In this way, my work is experimental and concerned with layering paint. The brushstrokes made on canvas reflect action taking and subconscious decision-making.
