Nancy Douglas is an illustrator, artist and teacher. Since graduating from Sheridan College in 1995, her collage illustrations have been used in editorial, advertising, and publishing in Canada and the US.
Nancy uses collage, drawing and painting to create art informed by history and controversy. She often begins with archival and genealogical research combined with interviews.
Nancy has been teaching art classes and workshops for 25 years and considers teaching to be part of her art practice. She enjoys working with all levels and age groups; gaining insight through extensive teaching for the Limestone District School Board, Queen’s University, and the Royal Military College.
After her residency at RMC in 2018, Nancy Douglas was commissioned to create four large scale collage artworks entitled The Four Pillars Art Project. This art adventure began with interviews of faculty, students and alumni. Her extensive research in the archives, and collaborations with curators have revealed the history of the College.
