INTRODUCTION TO GOUACHE
DATE: Sunday, April 28, 2019 1-3pm
INSTRUCTOR: Christina MacLachlan
Gouache is an opaque form of watercolour that was used extensively in the past by graphic artists to produce a flat colour surface that can be layered to produce a number of effects that differ greatly from translucent watercolour.
In this two hour workshop you will learn the properties of this unique medium. From laying a flat wash, to layering, to colour mixing, to detailing and dry brush, you will explore the medium in hands on exercises and small compositions. This workshop includes a product kit.
As well, you will explore ways to render specific subjects, such as rocks and trees.
